BLUES

DOES THE word conference suggest ennui? It actually is the platform to be heard and seen. Be seated in a strategic position. If you are on the podium make sure to make eye contact with everyone and especially the person whom you want to convey the message. Prepare well and make a point instead of beating about the bush. There are a few stringent sets of laws to carry to the boardroom.

Do not yawn while the meeting is in progress.

Do not place your elbow on the table, as this is an exhibition of aggressiveness.

Do not bite your lips as this shows an uncertain mind.

Do not shake your legs as this could distract other members.

Do not interrupt without permission.

Good listening skills

Just as good communication skill is indispensable to a profession, so is listening, as this does wonders for your sustenance. There are definite body languages to go well with listening. However busy you are, try to pay heed, if you want to be more reachable. This works well across the desk. Make the other person feel comfortable and be heard, with your expressions and gestures. Do not express impatience and intolerance.
