Some art, some tart
LOCATED IN the lush green area decked up with contemporary furniture and Spanish tiles with a beautiful food display counter, fascinating paintings with green and yellow colours on the wall and of course soothing music complete the arty ambience of New Delhi's Art Chilli, the new restaurant at A-1, Cariappa Marg, Sainik Farms.
A completely new concept in gourmet restaurants signifies the coming together of different cuisines and harmonised with different art forms.
According to Sanjay Munjal, who owns Art Chilli: "It was my passion to do something exciting and through Art Chilli I have brought new ideas and finest flavours of the world under one roof and the uniqueness of the restaurant lies in its food, paintings and name."
A la Carte menu offer different cuisines like Chinese, Mexican, Mediterranean and Indian. And the fabulous food display counter boasts of a separate menu altogether that includes a salad bar, grills, light meals, and desserts all individually priced per portion.
Some must try are fish ball, Chinese cabbage and the cream of chicken celery soups. Among the starters there are Cajun fish fingers with rum honey salsa and the classic crispy chicken with garlic mayo dip. Main course include Singapore mee with chicken and prawn, steamed fish ginger, jumbo prawn hot garlic with a choice of either steamed rice, fried rice or noodles.
The continental dishes include chicken mexicaine with salsa de rojo, sole fillet with coconut relish, zucchini and asparagus risotto served with garlic bread and vegetables. The Indian menu has balti imli chooza, gosht-e-khas and dahi baigan masala accompanied with sumptuous art chilli dal and burani raita on offer. The salad bar has all kinds of seafood salads like smoked salmon, squid, French roast chicken, chicken loaf, chicken enchilada, lamb kathi roll, jacket potatoes, black pepper lamb, vegetarian kathi roll, mix vegetarian salad to name a few. In the desserts choc a lot cake is worth a bite.
