STORAGE SOLUTIONS have now not just come under the same roof, but are being retailed in an exhibition devoted exclusively to them. There's an inaugural offer on between December 16 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Quetzel outlet on Sarjapur Road. Quetzel is dedicated to storage solutions; the counterparts of all those items you picked up in bits and pieces from tiny shops in Shivajinagar may now be found under one roof at this store.
Designers Akanksha Thakur, Ipshita Panda, Khushboo Gupta, Nikita Khaitan, Shriya Kariappa, Sarita Fernandes and Sandeep Mukherjee all see storage as a priority and have designed a range of options with innovative designs at not-too designer rates.
Modern designs
Recognising modern tastes in light wood, the storage options all use simple, non-fussy lines but retain some element of quirkiness that keep the products from slipping into the realm of the mundane. Not just square and rectangular lines; instead here, bookshelves defy conventional notions of balance and line and magazine holders are cause for as much attention as the magazines they hold.
It's not just the items, which are offbeat and contemporary, their names are likely to provoke some reaction too. Bathroom storage solutions to hold soaps, shampoos and towels are branded "John" and "Mary Loo" for instance, and mini bar storage shelves are named "Pint", "Bacchus" and "Swig".
Of course a cute name is unlikely to have you lugging home bits of furniture from this store, so its real USP is probably the fact that mini bars, TV units, CD racks, trolleys, mirrors, bathroom cabinets, shelving units (deep breadth), magazine racks, open book shelves that double up as room dividers... you get the picture. Suffice to say, a wide range of products are available at Quetzel.
