SHOW MERCY, DON'T KILL
Life is precious
I do not support the plea for mercy killing as life is very precious. It is really heart breaking that organs are sought to be harvested from terminally ill patients. More appalling is the fact that some people were ready to use the organs of the muscular dystrophy patient, Venkatesh, for transplantation. Efforts of Mrs. Sujatha, the mother of the deceased, who tried all her best to fulfill her son's last wish, were laudable. However, it was a question of taking one's life. It would be better to engage Community Service volunteers to come the rescue of such patients. More volunteers are to be recruited by the organizations which aim to work for people with physical disabilities in India. Community Service Volunteers are doing a good job in UK. A thorough study on this matter is required on the part of the Indian government.
