HOT OFF the tandoor, a delicately spiced Bhatti Murgh is a good way to warm up to the chill on a cold wintry evening. So, Jashan (Road No. 10, Banjara Hills) it is, where the mustard-flavoured chicken is grilled on an open fire that accents the smoked flavour without leaving a burn. It is as meaty as anything you've sunk your teeth into.
Bhatti Murgh is one of the many delicacies, which make the menu of the ongoing food festival titled `Dawaat-i-Nawabi' that concludes on January 9. Yakini Shorba (a soup made from the shins of lamb) opens the menu; try it out to see for yourself what more is in store. Shikhampuri Kebab, Bhatti Murgh, Patthar ka Gosht, Talleli Machhi and Kesar Malai Jhinga are a few of the non-vegetarian starters served with an assortment of chutneys.
The breadbasket contains Tafftan, Kameer Roti and Sultani Naan, which go well with the main course constituting mostly the usual ghee-rich Nawabi cuisine. Matka Kulfi and Badam-Kajoor ka Halwa are dishes to help one sign off on a sweet note.
