Feather in APSS cap

ANDHRA PRADESH Sports School added yet another feather to its cap when it won the Dr. John de Souza trophy inter-school football tournament recently. In the final, APSS defeated Valerian Grammar School 3-0 after leading 2-0 at half time. A.R. Naidu, B. Satish and S.K. Khaleel were the scorers for APSS. Cash prizes were given to the winning team and the runners up.

Eight teams took part in the tournament, which was organised by St. Andrews High School, Bowenpally, at is own grounds. Former Olympian S.A. Salam inaugurated the tournament. Former international Victor Amalraj who was in charge of the technical arrangements said that 16 schools were interested in taking part but only eight could be allowed due to constraints of time. Next year, the organisers hope to conduct the tournament on a bigger scale and allow more entries.
