Light-hearted comedy

ACTOR-WRITER Sreenivasan along with Mohanlal has given some memorable comedy films in Malayalam. After a break, the duo are back with "Udayananu Tharam" which marks the directorial debut of Rosshan Andrrews. The film, with the script by Sreenivasan, has Mohanlal playing Udayabhanu, a budding film director. Says Rosshan: "It is a light-hearted comedy that takes a satirical look at the tinsel town. It depicts the struggles of Udayabhanu as an assistant director and the machinations of a superstar, Rajappan Thengamoodu, played by Sreenivasan." Mohanlal says "Udayananu Tharam" will be different from the usual family entertainers he has been doing. The film, releasing this Friday, also has writer-director Lohithadas, playing a scheming film director, and Meena as the heroine.
