Rehabilitation of tsunami victims

Demands

I was both fortunate and unfortunate enough to be a member of a fact-finding team that visited tsunami-hit Nagapattinam and Karaikal areas. Many affected places are dumped with used-clothes, utensils and ricebags without any complementing groceries. The most popular demand andunanimous request of the victims was the construction of 'protection walls'along the coast and concrete houses at the safest place.
