Rehabilitation of tsunami victims

In full swing

RELIEF measures are in full swing. Spontaneous aid in cash and kind is pouring in from all corners of the land to cater to immediate needs of shelter, clothing, food and medical aid. Permanent relief measures need priority for the fishermen who are worst affected. They should be provided with fishing boats, catamarans and nets. Orphaned children have to be ensured proper education and affection. An alarming aspect is the much-reported pilferage by a few unscrupulous elements. They need to be checked effectively.

Balasubramaniyam Hemalatha,
Madurai-1.
