`COLOURFUL RANGOLIS'

A `Rangoli competetion' was conducted by the Pithapuram Colony Association as part of the recent Sankranti celebrations. In all, 14 persons participated in the event, which was witnessed by a large gathering. A participant came from Shipyard Colony, located 20 kms. away.

The rangolis were judged by K.V .Ramani Rao, T.Shyamala and Vasanti Rajeswaran. The first, second and third prizes were bagged by K. Leelavati, V. Deepa and G. Sarojini Devi respectively.

The prizes will be distributed on the Republic Day.

The association president, G. M. Rama Rao, says that the association will not be confined to welfare activities but undertake programmes like eradication of illiteracy, family welfare and malaria eradication.
