After having successfully organised mega literary events like Eswara Sataavadhaanam in 1997 and Bhuvana Vijayam in 2000, the cultural body with about a dozen members under the stewardship of the noted opthalmologist, Ivaturi Venkata Rao, got it soon registered as Ivaturi Charitable Trust.
On the occasion of its inauguration in January 2001 by Sadguru Kandukuri Sivananda Murty of Anandavanam (Bhimili), the trust organised a literary show, Avadhana Vijayam. Similarly the Haasyavallari in 2002, Aasukavitva Triveni in 2003 and Yuvakavithakadambam last year also achieved laurels for the trust attracting overwhelming response. It has also been honouring an an eminent artiste every year.
Honouring the cine producer, director and actor of enviable repute, K. Viswanath, coupled with the Haasyarasa Kavitha Prahelika titled `Kavitha Kalaadharam' marked the trust's fourth anniversary celebhrations at Kalabharathi recently. It was presented by Mahaasahasraavadhaani Garikipaati Narasimha Rao of Kakinada, Tribhaashaavadhani Vaddiparthi Padmakar of Eluru and the Sanchaalakaavadhani Dhulipaala Mahadevamani of Rajahmundry. "Kasinadhuni Viswanath, carving a niche of serving the cause of our age old traditions, dance and music in particular, through his films provide a directtion to the directors," said the chief guest, Sadguru Sivananda Murty.
"He stands as an exemplar of ever lasting endearment of the hearts of millions of the cinegoers all over the country," opined the former Rector of Andhra University, A. Prasanna Kumar.
"Viswanath is a missionary making the most popular media of cinema a vehicle for revealing the means of achievement of the yogic splendour embedded in the saadhana of traditional arts," said the former MP, M.V.V.S. Murty.
"I am deeply indebted to the members of the Ivaturi Trust, just not for having felicitated me, but for having given me an opportunity of witnessing such an occasion where a grand show of enlightening literary acumen and competitive play of enthralling elan was organised," Viswanath expressed his passionate empathy, responding to the felicitations.
The trust's founder-president, Dr. Venkata Rao, welcoming the gathering listed its objectives.

Taking the opportunity of Viswanath's visit, the members of the local Saiva Peetham, which is affiliated to the Maha Saiva Peetham, Hyderabad, of which Sivasri Nirmala Sanakara Sastry is the Peethadhipathi and Sadguru Sivananda Murthy is the Upapeethadhipathi, organised a talk by the cine director in the premises of the residence of Bendapudi Mallikarjuna Rao (former professor of the AU College of Science and Technology).
Appreciating the efforts of the memebers upholding and perpetuating the traditions of the Saiva cult, Viswanath stressed the need for securing a suitable site to have a community hall for its regular meetings. He promised all possible help not only from his side but also from the popular cine actor, Chandra Mohan, and the play-back singer, S.P. Balasubramanyam, for the same. The peetham's secretary, Chaganti Soma Sundara Rao, welcomed the gathering. Its president, Ivaturi Veerabhadra Rao, presented a shawl and a memento to Viswanath. Ivaturi Sambasiva Rao proposed a vote of thanks.

Members of Sri Lalitha Peetham celebrated the four-day `Sri Devi Sankranthi Sambaraalu' in the premises of the Devi's temple. The discourses of its Peethadhipathi, Jagadguru Sri Siddheswarananda Bharathi Swami (who also heads the Courtalam Peetham) on all the days, imparting spiritual fervour, created a serene tenor in the environs.
Vocal recitals by Dhulipala Savitri and G. Sarada, devotional music by K. Kamala and veena recital by Vaani Bala marked the beginning of the functions on consecutive evenings. Inaugurated by the Swami, the first evening witnessed an uplifting lecture on `Asrama dharmamulu' by the retired professor, D.V. Ramana Rao, followed by a discourse by Sri Gambheeraananda Bharathi Swami.
A theatrical feature titled `Indrasabha' on the next evening, the release of the book `Some Thoughts on Last Minute Enlightenment', an anthology of philosophical critiques by Ramana Rao and a mini seminar on `Maanavathaviluvalu - Aadhyaatmikata' with the former Chairman of the Bar Council of India, D.V. Subba Rao, in the chair were the highlights on the other evenings. While Maj.P.R. Rao initiated the discussion, the advocate, V. Deveswara Rao, the professors, S.V. Madhava Rao, Vedula Subrahmanya Sastry, K. Malayavasini, P. Venkata Sainatha Sastry and Balamurali Krishna, spoke. The analyses by Dr. Balamurali and Prof. Malayavasini were informative and engrossing. P.S.R. Anjaneya Prasad proved himself a master of ceremony by compering all the programmes.

Sahridaya Sahithi, at its weekly meeting last Wednesday, organised a book release function. An anthology of free verses in Telugu scripted over the years by T.P.N. Acharyulu and his wife Vijaya Lakshmi, titled `Sahiti Sourabhalu', was released by Prof. Subrahmanya Sastry. Its first copy was presented to the doyen of the theatre and author of many an oratorio, Kotturti Bhaskara Rao.
The sahithi president, L.R. Swami, chaired the session, and the noted writer, Viriyala Lakshmipathi, read out an appreciative critique on the book. Both Vedula and Viriyala opined that the contents stood paradigmatic of the observation "poetry stands an image of society".
