Drama in trauma

Save art forms

Theatre has been providing a perfect platform to promote various art forms that reflect our age-old culture and high values.

But I strongly feel that the annual Nandi Natakotsavam that includes felicitation to a handful of artistes is not sufficient to save the art forms from slipping into oblivion.

The Government should instead chalk out an elaborate plan to provide the much-needed boost to theatre arts. Programme propagating and promoting the art forms should be conducted throughout the year across the State.

Eminent persons in the field should take upon themselves the task of propagation.

Prasad Kalluri,
Vijayawada.
