In tune with Nazakat

Nazakat is the new name of the musical game for Shibani Kashyap

SHE SHOT to fame with her debut album `Ho Gayi Hai Mohabbat', for which she won the Channel V award.

A Delhi girl, she is a musician, singer, composer and performer. If you look hard enough, you just might spot her performing live shows, be it on the college or corporate circuit.

She has performed across the world too. Staying in Delhi and travelling to Mumbai doesn't pose a problem, as she believes an artiste is just like a gypsy.

Shibani Kashyap of Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part-II fame, who made her debut in Bollywood lending her husky voice to the song "Sajna Aa Bhi Jaa", in which she also appeared, is now all set to release her fifth solo album, Nazakat. "Nazakat is my latest musical offering. It is a celebration of beauty and sensuality and transports the listener to a happy world. It comprises the sounds I love - guitar-based - and most important, it is an expansion of me as a person," says Shibani.

Experimenting with new sounds in her albums, she says, "I don't have remixes in my album. The previous one, Nagmagee, was a Sufi rock album, which is different from Nazakat. The songs portray my mood. I feel with every musical presentation you evolve as an artiste."

Nazakat has an international flavour.

There are also the high-energy tracks, "Ishara Karo" and "Hakim Tarachand" for listeners to chill out with.

"My music has always been romantic, and I love the title track `Nazakat' and `Thodi Thodi Saanjh'," says Shibani.

"My second album, still untitled, will be out in February, and six months down the line I am planning to make an album featuring artistes such as Mika and Rabbi," she adds.

After her foray into Bollywood she has something to share. "I have sung the title song for the forthcoming film Golmaal."
