Chords & Notes

HINDI
Shabd, T-Series,
Rs. 125
.00

ONCE AGAIN we have a one-song album. Shabd is all about Sholon Si. Rendered by Vishal Dadlani and Sunidhi Chauhan, the song has the jazzy feel that Vishal Shekhar are known to offer, post Jhankar Beats. Here without much support from the lyricist Irshad Kamil, they have managed to deliver the optimum. Beyond this, Shabd doesn't say much. Khoya Khoya by Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan raises hopes. The song has the required lilt but fails to materialise into anything outstanding. A few notches below is Bolo To by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal.

Nazakat, Sagarika Music, Rs. 50.00

THIS ONE is surely for those who love soft music with a peppy touch to it. Entirely composed for the guitar, each song in the album will lead one into fairyland. Nazakat is a collection of songs composed by Shibani Kashyap herself, with her team of lyricists and musicians who have lent their artistic skill to add to the musical content.

The title track Kya Nazakat Hai, sung and composed by Shibani Kashyap celebrates beauty and sensuality with innocence. The numbers Hakim Tara Chand and Ishara Karo are fun dance tracks. The other noteworthy tracks are Kashmakash, Din To Gujar Jaye, Ho Raha Hai Mujhko Ye Yaqeen and Thodi Thodi Saanj. Overall, a hummable affair.
