Picking up threads... and language

THE GIRL who is branded a `flop heroine' by a section of the industry, Namitha is not affected by this negative publicity anymore though she feels it is uncalled for. "If a film is a hit at the box-office, the credit goes to the hero or the director, but if it flops, the fingers point at the heroine. This is unfair. But I have begun to take things in my stride and such cheap publicity fails to affect me," she says. Namitha acted in Sontham, Gemini, Oka Raju Oka Rani, and Oka Radha Iddaru Krishunulu earlier and is now cast in Rajashekhar's next untitled film. She is also learning Telugu and is happy to have picked up the language quite fast. It is essential to know the language as it helps in understanding your role well, she chirps.
