On a comeback trail

REMEMBER RAHMAN, the Malayalam-Tamil actor who has done memorable films such as "Puthu Puthu Arthangal" and "Sangamam"? Well, the tall, handsome actor who was on a brief hiatus is back in some meaty roles. His role as a police officer in the film "Raam" is receiving a lot of accolades. Last year, his performance in a negative role in K. S. Ravikumar's "Ethiree" and as a sincere cop in the Malayalam hit "Black" has created an impact. Says Rahman: "I am looking forward to performance-oriented roles and working with good directors." He gives all credit for the success of "Raam" to director Ameer whose composition of each shot enriched his character. Watch out for Rahman in the offbeat "Kairekhai", directed by Gowri Manohar, in which he plays a fisherman.
