Hockey stars, Dilip Tirky, and Mukesh Kumar, interacting with students of Sri Prakash school.
The students of D.A.V. Public School, Butchirajupalem, collected Rs.91,000 towards tsunami relief and handed it over to HelpAge India for distribution to the victims. In recognition of the efforts of the children, the authorities of HelpAge India gave gifts and certificates to those who lent a helping hand towards the cause of the tsunami victims, at a function held on the school premises recently.
The proprietor of Satyanand Film Institute, L. Satyanand, who participated as chief guest, spoke on the role of teachers in nurturing the inherent talents of children apart from studies. A representative of HelpAge India, Vinod Kumar, commended the students who participated in the fund raising programme.
The Karate trainer, Balaraju, presented various belts to the trainees who won in various categories at the district-level karate competitions held on the school premises.
The Regional Director of D.A.V. Schools, N. Sobhanadri, and the school principal, C.A.L. Sareetha, spoke.

Dilip Tirky and Mukesh Kumar, the captain and the former captain of the Indian Hockey team respectively visited Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan recently and interacted with the students and staff.
Dilip Tirky, who has been nominated for the International Hockey player of the year award, recalled the memorable incidents of his life and from his professional career. He described the Arjuna Award as the best honour for him.
Mukesh Kumar underlined the importance of the all round development of children apart from studies. Later, the hockey stars posed for pictures along with the children.

A mega dental camp was organised at Olivet School by Sri Gayatri Welfare and Cultural Youth Academy in association with the School Health project(KGH) recently.

The chairman and presbyter in charge, E.B.S. Nadh, gave tips on oral hygiene and health to the children. As many as 600 children were examined at the camp. The decayed teeth of 22 children were removed and cement filling was done for 46 students.
Medicines, toothpaste and brushes were given free to the students.
A recipient of the national youth award, R. Ravi Kumar, district-level winner, Poosapati Triveni, the school correspondent, D.F. Simon, its director, Sheila Jackson, and the principal, Sunita Nayar, participated.

A variety of cultural programmes marked the Founder's Day celebrations of V.T. College (school), Rajendranagar, held on the school premises recently.
Competitions were held in events like singing, Western and classical dance, recitation, story telling, creative writing, general quiz and elocution.
P. Lakshmi and the children who participated in the fancy dress competition as part of the annual day celebrations of V.T. College school.
The school principal, P.N. Rao, in his report, said that seven students had obtained 550 marks and above in S.S.C. 2004 examination. These students were given a V.T. Pratibha award of Rs.3,000 each along with merit certificates. Three students had received merit scholarships from the Government of AP.
