"Sachin" scores
THE AUDIO of Vijay's "Sachin" launched last week without much hype has turned out to be a huge success. Says Sanjay Wadhwa of AnAK Audios: "We have been able to sell 50,000 cassettes and 15,000 CDs, within two days of its launch which is an amazing figure. Everybody says the songs are rocking." Music director Devi Sri Prasad has put together a captivating cocktail of melody and fast numbers, including a `gana' song to suit the youthful image of the hero. The album opens with a song by Shankar Mahadevan "Va Va..Thalaiva... " which develops into a bracing beat treat and Vijay himself has crooned one song "Vaadi Vaadi..." Adds Wadhwa who is also marketing the "Chandramukhi" audio: "Please don't compare the audio sales of the two films as both the films and their music are of different genres."
