Lad of the laurels
LAURELS ARE not new for this charming youngster. In fact, he won accolades as a child artiste and continues to maintain the impressive track.
Sri Krishna Kaushik made his debut on the small screen playing the title role in Kittigadu, the hugely popular production on Doordarshan in 1990, and was awarded with a special jury Nandi.
These days, he is playing a variety of characters for different channels and is winning praise for his performance particularly in Aloukika and Priyanka on ETV.
Apart from television, Kaushik was also noticed for his performances on the big screen in films like Seenu, Vasanthi, Lakshmi in which he played villain alongside Prakash Raj, EVV's Aruguru Pativratalu and Nagesh Kuknoor's Hyderabad Blues-II.
"There is intense competition for a place on the silver screen and I am keen on making it big," says Telugu TV's `Kittigadu'.
Kaushik acted in Edi Nijam for Gemini and will also be seen in Agnigundam, the serial set for telecast on ETV soon.
"Television got me good exposure and I love being in front of a camera for the small screen," says the actor who made forays into anchoring recently.
He can be seen in the company of Prashanthi anchoring the popular talent show Andhrawala.
Acting is in his blood. Kaushik's father, Shankar is a theatre personality and is seen in Bapu's Bhagavatham while his brother Aditya acted in a string of Telugu films. A graduate from Badruka College, the young anchor-actor is busy chalking out his path to more success on the small screen and also making it big on the bigger version of entertainment. "I am confident because talent is what I am banking upon," he says.
New concept
WHAT IS Kadambari Kiran earlier, who scored a major casting coup by roping in Akkineni Nageswara Rao to act in his serial Oke Okkadu, doing these days?
The popular actor who turned director with the serial in which ANR enthralled fans with his famed dance `steps' is said to be busy with a new concept, which has not been attempted on satellite channels earlier.
Sounds interesting, but Kiran is keeping mum about the production.
