Hollywood's Linda is ready to rock Kollywood
|
With her wind swept hair, luminous skin and elastic body, Linda teases the camera with an air of nonchalance for a photo shoot at Dreamcast, the model-management firm in Alwarpet. Linda? Who? You might ask. But hold on... those who have seen trailers of "Sachein" aver that the Hollywood starlet is now ready to rock Kollywood.
"Sachein" is not the only film that this four-movie-old actor from New York has landed. She will also make appearances in Simbu-starrer "Thottijaya", "Sorry Enakku Kalyanamayiduchi" and "Kana Kandein." She's happening in Telugu ("Bhatra" starring Ravi Teja) and Hindi ("Twinkle Twinkle Little Star") too.
Catch up with the sizzle-and-steam Linda, and you realise there's more to her than "item" appeal. Actually, it was a spiritual quest that brought her to India. She speaks with honesty about ethnic cultures, karma and beauty in kindness. "In the West, people have little patience, everything gets blown up. Here it's different," she says with a genial smile.
"As far as acting goes, I just thought I'd give it a shot here. It clicked, thanks to Dreamcast. Now, there are plenty of offers. I worked on my mannerisms, body language and etiquette. It hasn't been a problem adapting to the new milieu. I'm not even threatened by the water now."
Will she stop with those item numbers? "No, basically, I'm an actor. I'd like to play heroine. I hope to get a major break in Bollywood." But doesn't dance come naturally to her? "Oh, yeh, it just happens on the sets," she gushes.
