Summer vacation is the time when children can learn new skills


MANY EDUCATIONAL and private institutions are conducting special courses for summer. Activities ranging from needlecraft to computer training are being held for children of various age groups.

Jayageeth Learning Centre in association with Genius Education and Learning Systems will conduct a camp for children in different age groups (6-9 and 10-14) in three batches — April 19 to 30, May 3 to 14 and May 17 to 28, 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. — at K. Srishti Special School's summer camp (age group 18 to 21years) will focus on learning styles, motivation, study and communication skills, yoga, time management, interpersonal relationship and career counselling. The six-day residential camp will be held at Tholpati wild life sanctuary and bird sanctuary in Kuruva islands. Trekking, jeep safari, and boating will also be undertaken. Alchemy Kids, Personality Development and Talent Promotion Centre for Children (New no. 5, 2nd Trust Link Street, 2nd Floor, Mandaveli) is conducting theatre, personality development, photography and art and craft camps at Mandaveli and Anna Nagar. Children who perform well at the theatre camp will be given a platform in the Theatre Society that will be launched by Alchemy in July.
