* For homemade seer and prawn pickle and dried fruit cake, call Fatima from Saurashtra Nagar (near Nungambakkam Railway station) at 98407 34930.

* Jayanthi recommends her cousin N. Banumathi from Alapakkam who supplies packed south Indian veg lunch and dinner for a minimum of 10 persons with door delivery up to Porur, K K Nagar and Virugambakkam.

She also makes sweets and savouries at home, which she currently supplies to offices in Mount Road. Ph: 55856330.

* "Asli Punjabi Rasoi" at G-9, Wellingdon Estate, Ethiraj Salai, Opp. Ethiraj College, Egmore (ph: 30924414 or 52146404) serves authentic vegetarian Punjabi food on all days from 11 a.m. to 11 PM. From Monday to Saturday they serve thali (Rs. 30) and ex-thali (Rs. 50). A la carte is available throughout the day.

* Vandana Shah from Mint Street recommends Hansa Vora from Triplicane High Road (near Ratna Café) for her homemade chilli, dhaniya, turmeric, malagapodi, rasam powder, garam masala, tea masala and varieties of pickles like golkeri, khati keri, chunda, gunda, lime, chili and pickle masala. * Rajeshwari from Deccan Delicacies in Mylapore (near Mada Street) takes orders for north and south Indian (veg and non veg) meals for 25 to 250 persons with door delivery up to Alwarpet, Mandaveli, Royapettah and R.A. Puram. They also supply meals everyday in offices and can cater for functions. Ph: 94444 16272.

* P. Srinivasulu from Aynavaram recommends Delhi Hotel in Mint Street near the old Chandraprabhu Jain temple. North Indian dishes are affordable and tasty here. Another outlet was opened recently on Waltax Road near the Central station.

He also recommends Srirambhavan in Thambu Chetty Street for delicious sambar rice, curd rice, tamarind rice, coriander leaf rice and veg biriyani (Rs. 9 each).

Kakada Ramprasad near Delhi Hotel in Mint Street stocks a wide range of sweets. Check out their kaju katli, gajar halwa, milk/ kesar peda, badam/ pista roll and boondi ladoo.

* Prem Krishnaswamy from Aynavaram has recipes of various types of chutneys and podis, which are beneficial for the elderly and diabetic. Those interested can call her at 26450281.
