Chords & Notes

KYAA KOOL HAIN HUM

T-Series, Rs.50

ANU MALIK has gone for a `cool' overkill here. The album starts well with `Kyaa kool hain hum' by Kunal Ganjawala in his now inimitable style. The song will rock parties, never mind the pedestrian lyrics. However, the composer and the music company seem so moved by the creation that they have placed the instrumental and the remix version within a space of five songs. This kills the effect of a better composition `Jaago na,' where the music seems inspired by Boney M. Sunidhi Chauhan impresses with her range and malleability. "We are so different" by Shaan, Sunidhi and Kunal is not much different. But one has to wait really long to listen to `Dil mera' (One Night) by Jay Sean, another highlight of the album. If music albums could be edited, this seriously needs some.

BESTSELLERS OF ANUP JALOTA

Times Music, Rs.65

IT IS always a soothing experience to hear Anup Jalota. More so when one comes across a collection of his best bhajans. This Times Music release is a delight all the way. Side A, that has five bhajans, begins with his most famous one, `Aisi laagi lagan.' Hear it any number of times, you will still want to listen to it once more. The second one `Shyam piya mori' is another fine offering but perhaps more appealing is the third one `Jag mein sunder hai do naam... Krishan kaho ya Ram.' The album ends with the wonderful `Kabhi kabhi bhagwan ko bhi bhakton se kaam pade...' A nice album to add to your collection.
