`New sense' for Zee

NO HOLDS BARRED Naresh, Srividya, Madhu, Vasanth and Puja team up for a rib-tickling comedy

Zee Alpha these days is into a major exercise that will see it re-launch soon with a new format and packaging, complete with new programmes and even a slightly altered name.

The channel has been busy commissioning several new concepts.K. Ramesh Babu, the director who impressed the audience with his fun-filled Evari Gola Varide and Gokulam Apartments on Maa TV, is now shooting a serial titled Mr. & Mrs. New-Sense for Zee.

The production, which went to floors recently brings together all the top stars of humour and includes Naresh, Gundu Hanumantha Rao, Rallapalli, Suthivelu, and Vasanth with Sri Vidya, Madhu and Puja.

"It's going to be a no-holds-barred comedy and the plot and the artistes will ensure complete entertainment for viewers," says Ramesh Babu.

Music mania

After a dedicated news and current affairs channel, Sun Network has now come out a music channel Adithya.

The network's fourth in Telugu after Gemini, Teja and Teja News, the channel opened last week and attracted wide attention as the first-of-its-kind channel in Telugu. Adithya, however, needs to pay more attention to its anchors, one might say.

A little orientation in being more innovative and a more professional handling of phone-in concepts in particular, will help the anchors convert the routine shows into more lively ones. Surely, it's time the audience got a break from questions like "What are you doing now?", and "Who all are at home?"

For women

Another production that went to floor for the channel this week is Neeharika Productions' Tarunee Tarunam.

The daily women's magazine will have Saraswathi Pradeep as lead anchor and producers claim to be casting the show in a mould different from the ones shown in women's segment on other channels.

It is being shot on locations and incorporates different segments presented by a host of anchors.
