The British Council Young Learners are celebrating World Book Day from April 22 to 25

YOUNG LEARNERS of the British Council Library will celebrate World Book Day between April 22 and 25, with creative workshops on everything from jewellery designing and developing reading habits to sculpture and clay modelling. A workshop on reading habits called `Get caught reading' will be conducted on April 23, World Book Day and will include sessions on how to develop a love for reading.

There will also be a display of children's books, CDs and DVDs on various subjects. Kids can participate in a bookmark designing competition on www.learnenglish.org.uk/kids. Winning bookmarks will appear on the site.

The Young Learners Centre (YLC) of the British Council Library is a fun library for kids that helps them discover the joy of reading. Kids can use the library to help with schoolwork and learn to get information from books, computers and other resources.

The YLC has over 3,500 books, CDs and videos is as much a place of recreation and entertainment as it is of reading and gaining knowledge. There are fun monthly workshops, holiday activities and story times for members through the year.

The annual fee is Rs. 1,300 for Classic Young Learners Centre membership and Rs. 2,000 for a family membership.
