Films on films


Film group Collective Chaos presents an international film festival in Bangalore at Guru Nanak Bhavan from April 22 to 24, 2005. Films on Films is a collection of 10 award-winning films with a theme of film-making, focussing on films that deal with the process of making films from artistic and social perspectives.

Dealing with master film-makers such as Kurosawa, Fellini, Kieslowski, Kiarostami, Makhmalbaf and so on, the festival presents four films over the weekend and two on the inaugural day.

At 5:30 p.m. Friday is Man with a Movie Camera directed by Dziga Vertov followed by Camera Buff by Krzysztof Kieslowski at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday at 11:30 a.m. is Man Bites Dog by three directors, followed by Cinema Paradiso by Giuseppe Tornatore at 2:00 p.m., then Five Obstructions by Lars Von Trier at 5:15 p.m. and Close Up by Abbas Kiarostami at 7:30 p.m.

At the same timings on Sunday is 10 on Ten also by Kiarostami, 8 1/2 by Fellini, Salam Cinema by Mohsen Makhmalbaf and Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa.
