MOVEMENT is Life! The human body is not built for sitting. It is designed to move. We have become a sitting society. Most of us sit all the day at office and then drive home at night to sit some more in front of T.V. Now-a-day most of the children are spending their leisure time in front of the T.V and video's, rather than the playgrounds. Lack of proper exercise and improper diet is resulting in heart problem, blood pressure, diabetes... and numerous physical problems. A recent report from the British heart foundation suggested that lack of exercise is a bad as smoking 20 cigarettes a day. As we grow older our body becomes less flexible and heals more slowly. An increasing year brings with them a loss of muscle power and strength. According to studies after the age of 30, muscle fibres decline at 3% to 5% each decade and almost 30% by the age of 60.

Brisk walking is recognized as the better form of exercise compared to other exercises like swimming, cycling, stepping, rowing, aerobic dance etc., to overcome the above problems. Unfortunately there are few places in our city to walk and jog safely because of heavy traffic, pollution, crowd, weather uncertainties, safety and joining a health club or gym may not be possible in our busy time schedule. Bio-medical studies show that jogging or aerobic exercise makes your feet pound 3 to 4 times your body weight, which may injure your ankles, knees, hips and tendons. In brisk walking it is only 1 to 1.5 times of your body weight making the safest form of exercise.
