Bonanza for Vijay's fans

R-World announces contests to promote Sachien

This season, there's lots in store for actor Vijay's fans. Reliance Infocomm, which is into a tie-up with his latest release, Sachien, has not stopped with just SMS contests and videoconferences. It is even providing lucky winners an opportunity to meet the entire star cast of the movie.

To provide unlimited entertainment to its subscribers, Reliance India Mobile (RIM) has launched Blockbuster, an innovative promotion platform for Kollywood movies. To start with, it has gone in for a tie-up with Kalaipuli Thanu's Sachien. The content of the movie has been released on the R World suite of data applications, exclusively for RIM subscribers. This includes ring tones, exclusive video clips of the film and contests to interact with the lead star cast.

Says Ajay Aswathi, business head, Coimbatore: "The blockbuster concept is a special entertainment platform brought exclusively to our customers through CDMA 2001 X-based data capable handsets.

The 360 degree effort also provides an opportunity to showcase our broadband technology and an alternate platform for movie promotion."

"Blockbuster will offer customers the opportunity to experience premium quality entertainment and the latest in high quality mobile communication," he adds.

Reliance will also promote Sachien through various media, by , co-branding of music CDs and cassettes and a movie corner showcasing the film at Reliance Web World.

A co-branded float of Sachien and RIM would do the rounds in the city for ground promotions.

The film's music director, Devi Shri Prasad, will also compose a special ringtone for RIM customers. Services are available for a monthly rental of Rs. 25 or a daily charge of Rs. three.

Participants in the R World contest will win prizes that include free tickets, audio CDs, cassettes and exclusive memorabilia from the film. Winners from Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchi, Pondicherry and Vellore will also get a chance to interact with the stars of the film at a videoconference organised at Reliance Webworld.
