Eat apple, stay healthy

Sanjeev Kapoor has prepared various recipes from Washington Apples

Fruit of temptation: A basket of apples provides endless variety for the gourmet

An apple a day keeps the doctor away? True. But if somebody wants to offer you seb ka panna or seb ki kheer, or seb ka korma for that matter, how would you feel? Isn't it lovely, such a vast variety with only an apple?

To celebrate the many flavours of the ubiquitous apple, Washington Apple, the SCS Group, joined hands with Yellow Chilli restaurant after the Bhangra of Baisakhi got over. And started a festival in Noida that goes on till the end of the month. Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor has designed the mouth-watering recipes of the world famous Washington Apples.

"Washington apples have gained popularity among the health conscious Indian youth in recent years," informs Sumit Saran, India Representative, Washington Apple Commission.

But at the sector-18 restaurant it is apples all the way. As you move on the staircase, you would be delighted to see the model of a windmill watering the treesand creating solar energy. The ambience is cool and the service is too homely to take note of!

To start with, you have seb ka panna and masala apple juice. A healthy way to start, one would say. The second option fills your taste buds. The main course starts with navrattan korma with chatpata seb aaloo and seb murgh mughlai for a wider range. Korma has no substitute in the whole game.

To round off a happy meal seb ki kheer is a joy. See, thanks to this festival, one knows that the apple is far from a forbidden fruit. Nor is it a doctor's enemy. It can actually give you a much wider variety of dishes than you ever anticipated. Incidentally, a scratch and win contest is also being organised at Yellow Chilli restaurant for its special consumers. There are attractive prizes to be won. These include WAC wall clocks, times and calculators, besides gift coupons.
