Bollywood hunting

After five years of operations in India, National Geographic Channel (NGC) has gone for a total redesign. The idea is to commission and acquire more local content and showcase its traditional strengths in a new format. Even a channel of NGC's class cannot do without Bollywood. As part of its new-look approach, the channel has tied up with Karan Johar to showcase his "Kaal", a film set in the Jim Corbett National Park. NGC will bring to viewers a bouquet of programmes hosted by the hot and happening John Abraham, Lara Dutta and Vivek Oberoi _ "Deep Jungle" and "Last Man Eater"under the tagline "Kaal Special". This is NGC's foray into Bollywood and "Kaal" fits the profile of the channel, as it has a wildlife backdrop, and John Abraham actually plays a National Geographic researcher in the film!
