STYLE DIVA `I'm passionate about dance'

She is vivacious, sexy and at present one of the hottest "item" girls in Bollywood. But Yana Gupta is all set to play the lead role in a Hindi film for a big banner soon. Understandably, with some of her contemporaries waiting in the wings for a major break, Yana does not want to reveal anything further.

"I wouldn't let the cat out of the bag," says Yana with a glint in her eye. "All I can say is that it is a big production house and my co-actor will be a leading star."

The 22-year-old Czech-born model who married an Indian painter, Satyakam Gupta, insists that despite the latest offer, she will continue to do item numbers. "A number of producers have approached me with offers. However, I am selective about the dances and my role," she says.

Yana, who topped the popularity charts with her maiden number in Dum, has also done half-a-dozen sizzling dances in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. "I have done a dance number in the Venkatesh starrer Gharshana and the feedback was encouraging," she says.

But wouldn't doing item numbers affect her image as a serious actress? "Certainly not. I am passionate about dance. But then, as I said, I am not in a hurry to accept every offer that comes my way." The model-turned actress says a prominent business house has approached her to be its brand ambassador. "Maybe the contract will be signed in another few weeks," she says.
