Shudh is the new option for Delhiites looking for diversity in their food



Spicy affair: Rajkachori on offer at Shudh restaurant

East meets West meets South is how one can sum up the varied menu of Shudh. After the success of Gujarati and Rajasthani restaurants, Shudh and Suruchi in Karol Bagh, Shudh, a vegetarian food court, is the latest offering from the group.

Located at Rajouri Garden, here over 150 delicacies have been divided into six categories with an effort to bring all specialities under one roof. They have almost succeeded in achieving this as it serves an array of food starting from shahi paneer, mushroom masala and paneer Afghani to dal makhani, malai kofta and matka biryani.

Wide range

All the speciality snacks have been put in the `Hearth stone' section as it contains bakes, pastas and pizza with salads and burgers. If you have made it a habit to include some sort of `chat' in your food, you can try the same from the `snacky bites' section. And if your custom does not permit you to eat onion and garlic, then there is Jain pav bhaji as well.

Desi kona is the corner for North Indian food lovers who want to adhere to dal, chawal and subzi.

Here paneer Afghan is worth trying. Made in white gravy prepared from milk, it contains dry fruits like almonds and raisins making it heavy.

Those who are game for Chinese, they can select something from `Chow ho-jaye'. From soups like sweet corn and vegetarian talumien to starters such as vegetarian Manchurian, chilly mushroom and fried vegetables in salt and pepper, to main course which includes chilly paneer gravy and vegetable chop suey, the menu is well designed to suit the needs of Chinese food lovers.

On the menu, there is a chilly symbol with the name of some of the dishes, indicating that products are spicier than normal.

Coming from South is super tambi. This section of Shudh includes all the varieties of dosas with uttapam and idli. The speciality, here, is fried idly.

To quench your thirst, there are fresh juices, ice cream shakes and mocktails, served in the `Slurp segment'.
