All about astrology and more

Kadambi Book Sellers is holding a fair exclusively on the subject of astrology

Some call it fate, while others call it luck. The debate could be endless. But for those who believe in the Karmic theory, everything is pre-destined by the Creator.

Never mind all those petitions in the Supreme Court and scepticism about astrology as a science, there are still a large number of people who continue to believe that the destiny of every human being is dependent on the celestial movements.

If you are one of those diehard believers of astrology who would not mind swearing in the name of the Rahus and Ketus, the ongoing exhibition of books on astrology could help further boost your appetite for the subject.

The exhibition is being organised by Kadambi Book Sellers (Ph No: 27705349) from May 2 to 20. The exhibition showcases over 5,000 books on the ancient science, besides several imported books.

Rare collections

On display at the exhibition are the latest editions of Lahri's Ephermis and Table of Ascendants, two treatises considered to be indispensable elements in the preparation of a person's birth chart and horoscope.

For those seeking to get some basic information on what astrology is all about, the planetary movements, their retrograde movements and its impact on the individuals, there are several books by Pt. Beni Madhav Goswami, Pt. Laxmi Kanth Vashisth, G.S. Kapoor, R. Santhanam, Sanjay Rath and a host of other reputed astrologers and experts on the subject.

The bestsellers include Deva Keralam, Crux of Vedic Astrology, and Nakshatara. Several of the rare books by the late B.V. Raman, priced between Rs. 25 to Rs. 100 are also on display at the exhibition.

"You hardly come across an exhibition of astrological books in the country. The idea is to create awareness and more interest on the subject to the lovers of astrology," says 78-year-old R.N. Acharya, proprietor of the book house.
