For moms who always thought computers were sophisticated typewriters, Reliance Infocomm promises deliverance with `CyberMom' - a two-week programme that enables homemakers to attain the same wavelength as their computer-savvy kids and husbands.
CyberMom, which costs Rs. 750, covers computer basics, Internet and surfing, search engines, websites (cookery, shopping, child-care, travel), e-mail and e-cards, online messengers, MS Word and MS Excel, videoconferencing and chatting, digital imaging and printing.
The course is open to all women in the 15-60 age group. The course runs for two weeks, accommodating three batches a day with two hours for each batch. A separate programme for kids has also been chalked out. Titled `Little Genius', the 10-day programme costs Rs. 700 and is aimed at children in the 5-12 age group.
The programme will enable children to use broadband Internet, enjoy live music videos and movies, search educational, news and entertainment websites, video chat with friends and family members, send and receive e-mail, greetings, use MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Paint, play multiplayer and online games, create book labels etc.
