HEART-RENDING

The article, The other mother by Bhumika K. (MetroPlus, May 8, 2005), is heart-rending. While many women can't bear children for one reason or the other, it is sad that those who are blessed with motherhood, but have not the wherewithal, are driven to the extreme step of abandoning the child. Every mother owes her gratitude to good samaritans like Jaya Mary and other sisters for their yeoman service.
