Harking back to another era
If anyone likes anything at all about ships, the stories they tell, about places, people and life going back in time and going really far back, then they should check out the Leela Galleria, The Leela Palace, Airport Road before May 25 where the lifestyle boutique E-Studio International is presenting an exhibition of the "dare-devils of the sea" replicas of a range of ships from history.
The exhibition features Santa Maria, recreating the journey of Christopher Columbus to the Americas, the HMS Victory, Bluenose, HMS Endeavour, Cutty Sark, HMS Bounty, Mayflower, Golden Hind, USS Constitution, USS Constellation and Harvey Baltimore Clipper, all of which bring home the finest of exploratory voyages apart from the vast knowledge in the realm of navigation, science and geography.
Apart from the ships, there are those little things that made those ships: swords, daggers, shields, guns, pistols, figurines, real sterling silver ware that includes dolls, mantel-pieces, candle stands, lamp shades, vases and picture frames.
