It all started nine years ago in this town when their parents decided that the two of them should spend rest of their life together. Revealing the details of their marital bliss, Sarath Chandra, chief manager and the branch head of IndusInd Bank, along with his supportive better half, Lakshmi, make a lively company. Being in the banking sector for the past nine years did not stop Sarath from finding the job exciting enough. He always strove to excel in whatever he did.
He is enthusiastic about everything, including the daily chores he handles. "This was not the job my people expected me to do since I pursued science and computers. My entry into this arena surprised all but no regrets. I love every bit of a banker's role," exclaims Sarath.
Gaiety in Gujarat
Going round different States of the country was yet another advantage that came as a bonus along with his job. Of the places he visited so far, include Gujarat, Mumbai and Visakhapatnam. Recalling their stay in Gujarat, the couple recounts how the visit has been the most exciting of all. "The cultural exchange among people representing different communities was a refreshing experience," they say in unison. Their children have picked up the foot-tapping dandiya dance in addition to gaining fluency in Gujarati language. Though it is only five days since the couple set its foot in the city, the family is already gearing up to start afresh, in a new place, amidst strangers. Burdened with many a responsibility, including the task of securing admission for their two children in a good school here, they are unfazed and look forward to happy days in Vijayawada.
"Every time we shift to a new place, we face this difficulty of taking time to settle down. But the change is good for the kids for, it would surely add to their confidence-level and get themselves familiarized with different languages and cultures," says Sarath.
Manish, a third class student, enlivens the conversation by joining in, "Oh! Pokemon is my favourite cartoon and among Telugu actors, I like Nagarjuna the most. Even while Manish churns out the list of his likes and dislikes, his three-year-old sister, Hasitha gurgles, as if to contribute her role in the chat session. Taking care of the kids is a fulltime job for Lakshmi who derives pleasure from it. Watching regular soaps on television is yet another pastime. "I like to involve myself in sports and play team games. Cooking is yet another hobby," says Sarath.
Driving round the town to discover every single place is something that they enjoy doing together. "Travelling by road, driving your car could be a thrilling experience." Their long drive to Mount Abu and Saputara valley were full of joy and excitement.
