Baba Sehgal is back

Baba Sehgal. Does the name ring a bell? Well, he used to be one of India's well-known pop stars, who is credited with pioneering several genres.

That's not all; he even acted in a movie titled Memsaab, which bombed at the box office.

Now this singer-actor makes his foray into soaps with a family drama soon to be aired on Star Plus. Remember Baba hosting Superhit Muqabla, the original countdown show on DD Metro in the early 1990s?

The new serial, Le Jayenge Le Jayenge, revolves around the trials and tribulations of a Punjabi family with Avtar Gill and Himani Shivpuri in the supporting cast.

Says Baba: "I decided to take up this offer as nothing much is happening in the music industry at present."
