Venkat Reddy and Rajashree continue to derive pleasure in exploring the changing facets of the city, says Deepa Raparla

After sharing 25 years of marital bliss with Rajashree, Venkat Reddy, the Deputy General Manager/ CRM of the Indian Overseas Bank, is richer by experiences that have enriched his life.

"I have been a banker for over 30 years now," he says explaining how travelling essentially becomes part of the package that comes a banker's way. The couple has seen almost the entire north, metros like Mumbai and Delhi besides many places in the south. Narrating the exciting life in South Korea during their five-year stay there, thanks to his profession, Rajashree says it was an exhilarating experience.

"My wife is a quick learner. She picked up Korean language at an amazing speed," he says. Though slightly upset over the problems that crop up for education of their children whenever they shift to a new place, the couple feels that the exposure it gives to the kids more than makes up for the pains undertaken.

Divine tilt

Rajashree is a homemaker who likes visiting temples and devoting all her time for the family. Her visit to Badrinath and Kedarnath was `an unforgettable experience'. Their stay in Visakhapatnam has been the best. "The place is wonderful with people who mingle with strangers easily. We still miss our morning walks on the beach road even while trying to get used to the Loyola College grounds here," they say in unison savouring chicken corn soup and veg spring rolls. Though natives of Hyderabad, the duo feels equally connected to all the places they have visited and explored so far.

Culinary skills

Rajashree's wields amazing culinary skills, especially when it comes to dishes like mutton biryani. With both their children well settled in life, the couple is leading a happy life.

"We did our part by instilling discipline in them at an early age. It has helped them find a foothold on their own," they maintain relishing the combination of rotis with chicken kadai. Living in the city for the last two years, Venkat Reddy feels there is still much more to be explored. "We have found a few places that we like here. Eating out is something we do often and it is either D.V. Manor or Tycoons," they say digging into fried rice served piping hot with the yummy mushroom palak.

"If a walk in the morning is my obsession, reading is a hobby," says the senior banker.
