Call for auditions
for amateurs too Hopefuls are selected purely on the basis of role suitability
After years of working with Bangalore's large theatre groups, actor-photographer-director Bhaskar decided to begin his own group which operated with slightly different rules and philosophies. At Curtain Call, all auditions are announced publicly through the media and participants are selected purely on the basis of how suitable they are for the role, says Bhaskar. He picks fresh faces with no qualms about their lack of references; and credits himself for the discovery of well-known Bangalore actors such as Deepti Sudhindra.
Most productions are made in aid of charity, and the upcoming production is Agatha Christie's Witness for the Prosecution in aid of SICHREM; a voluntary organisation highlighting children's rights. In the past, Curtain Call has performed Wait Until Dark on behalf of Association for People with Disability, Whose Life Is It Anyway on behalf of Charities Aid Foundation and Duet for One in aid of Multiple Sclerosis Society of India.
Those wanting to take part either in stage or be involved with production can contact Geetha Menon on 9845445408.
