Handling menopause

A seminar to help women tackle mid-life crisis

The health needs of women during menopause and ways to pass on to mid-life smoothly will be discussed at a seminar on menopause management to be held at SNR Kalairangam on June 19.

Menopausal problems such as mood swings, depression, stress and osteoporosis will be discussed and risks associated with it evaluated.

The seminar, organised by the Women's Center, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore, will talk about natural ways to treat symptoms of menopause.

Eminent speakers will talk on wide-ranging topics such as bone health at mid-life, dementia and neurological problems of aging, mid-life crisis and cardiovascular problems during the day-long seminar.

The morning session, beginning at 9.30 a.m., is devoted to health problems of middle-aged women.

The session at 5.30 p.m. will be an open forum where experts will answer queries on the subject. Award winning writer Vaasanthi will talk about the social and emotional aspects of the problem.
