Tool for doctors

A computer tool makes a doc's job easier

Here is a new homemade computer software for medicos. Developed by Anil Vij, a Delhi-based doctor, Prescription Pad Ver-2, enables doctors to write prescriptions, file reports and search for medical records electronically.

It has a complete drug database with relation to Indian Pharmacopoeia and a feature to check drug reactions and safety parameters for every brand that a doctor prescribes for the patient.

It is handy for a doctor whether he is a general physician, surgeon, gynaecologist, ENT surgeon or gastroenterologist. "The software at the moment has complete diagnostic information of about 1,500 common diseases along with their related investigations and differential diagnosis so that a clinician has complete information at his desktop while treating a patient," says Dr. Vij.

"It is also user-friendly and tries to make the task of prescription-writing simple and automated," he adds.

For more information on the software, you can email dranilvij@yahoo.com and ppmail@indiatimes.com or call 011-26079085.
