Bhajans and ghazals

Anup Jalota will perform at Music Academy on September 10

Music becomes sweeter when it is rendered for a cause. The Rotary Club is organising a concert by Anup Jalota on September 10 at the Music Academy as part of its efforts to raise funds for the projects of the club at Adyar. Part of the proceeds will be used to set up a medical centre that will provide free treatment to the poor and underprivileged who live on the outskirts of the city.

Anup Jalota is a name to reckon with in the world of bhajan and ghazal singing, both in the country and abroad. He has performed at over 4,000 concerts. His albums such as "Takhaiyul", "Shamakhana", "Moods" and "Farmaish" find a cherished place in the collection of most music buffs.

Tickets for the show priced at Rs. 2,000, Rs. 1,000, Rs. 500 and Rs. 200 are available at Odyssey (Adyar), landmark (Nungambakkam), Gangotree (Cathedral Road), Konika Jewellery (N.S.C. Bose Road) and Media Mix (ph: 24520261). Payments by demand draft/cheque may be made in favour of "Rotary Club of Adyar Charitable Trust" or call 52150950 for details.
