Easing traffic congestion

Poor infrastructure

About 20,000 vehicles are registered in the city each month with no change in the transportation infrastructure, which is deteriorating. Add to this, the mushrooming of giant hoardings, unauthorised parking, rash driving and non-observance of traffic rules. Since roads cannot be widened, overbridges for vehicles and pedestrians are possible solutions. Parking facilities can be provided underneath these bridges. Educational institutions should discourage students from using private vehicles.
