The film is highlighted as a Dimple-Rishi comeback vehicle while the focus on Soha and her co-star Sameer is missing.
But Soha seems to be at ease with that. "I accepted the film because it has a very interesting, possessive-of-sorts story. It has lots of family dynamics. I have absolutely no qualms about not being highlighted as a younger heroine. And it is because so far, I have only one professional release while Dimpleji and Rishiji are far senior to me in the film industry."
And she minces no words in admitting that she is choosing a multi-starrer film for specific reasons.
"I am so new to the industry. I still don't find myself capable of carrying a film solely on my shoulders. If my comparisons with other actors are talked about, I take it in my stride because it helps me analyse my acting skills and the areas I have to work in."
In Rituparno Ghosh's Antarmahal, she plays the central role. And the very mention of the film brings lots of energy in her expression. "I had a lot of learning and unlearning experiences. The Bengali that is used in the film is not that we speak today. So it was a little difficult for me to deliver dialogues. My character in the film has some grey shades too. I am married to a man played by Jackie Shroff but the character has some subtle interests elsewhere. This film has helped me a lot in growing as an actor."
Her next release is Aamir Khan's Rang De Basanti. "This film will make people form a good opinion about me," claims the actress refusing to give away her character in it.
And what next? "After these releases, I would like to sit back and analyse my performances before I take up new assignments. I need to know what I can do best."
Intelligent decision, we say!
