SPARKLING AS EVER Diya Mirza
Diamonds are said to be women's best friend and so of actress Diya Mirza too. Just the other day in New Delhi to unveil Tanishq's latest diamond designs, the charming beauty from Hyderabad disclosed her love for diamonds. She also likes white gold and platinum, she said, but yes, they have to be entirely domestic brands.
Adorned in a pretty turquoise sari, she also wore a stone ring. "My panditji recommended this and it has proved to be very beneficial in terms of my health," she said.
After winning the Miss Asia Pacific Contest in 2000, Diya stepped into the film world with Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein alongside actor Madavan and later came in Deewanapan, Tumko Nah Bhool Payenge, Pran Jaaye Par Shaan Nah Jaaye, Dum, Tehzeeb and many other flicks.
Recently seen in Parineeta, Diya said, she was very glad that she did the role of Gayatri in the film. "Someone complimented me and said, there should be another movie emphasising my role," she adds.
Fight Club and more
But that was quite a small role? But Diya had an answer for it, "Role is neither short nor big. One should always go for substantial ones. After all, satisfaction is the greatest thing."
The model-turned-actress continued, "How terrifying otherwise it would be in an industry with no film background and no godfather to guide you."
Very soon, she will be seen in Dil Sacha Chehra Jhoota opposite Arjun Rampal, and Fight Club with Zayed Khan. Though unable to mark her entry in a big way in Bollywood yet, there's no looking back for Diya. No image makeover. "For me, my work is imperative than any image," she summed up.
