A facial with volcanic stones? Yes, that's the latest from Blossom Kochhar
|
BEAUTY, HER BUSINESS Blossom Kochhar
She's changed the face of beauty in her own way. And now, Blossom Kochhar, aroma therapist, beautician and stylist, is back with yet another facial treatment that claims to relegate dull skin to memory.
"It's a face pack with crushed volcanic stones," she beams, during a consultation session at Pivot Point, Chennai. "The stones are picked from volcanic sites around the world. They have special rejuvenation properties that open up the skin and make it glow. There are hot and cold stone packs for different skin types."
Blossom, whose beauty business has bloomed over the years thanks to her relentless spirit to refine her products line, has also come up with a glycolic face pack. "Basically, this is sugarcane extract. It works wonders on the skin. But it cannot be used without guidance from trained hands. The face pack stimulates the skin's natural renewal process."
Natural fairness cream
And if you were looking for a natural intervention to lighten your skin, then yet another buzz from Blossom's lab is sure to excite you. "Yes, at last, after years of research, we have come up with a 100 per cent natural fairness cream. The product will soon hit the Indian market," she discloses.
"The thing about natural extracts is that each has specific therapeutic properties. They are so powerful," says Blossom, whose nondescript bottles of essential oils and gels are available for a whole lot of problems from blackhead to cellulite.
Talking about Chennai-ites, she says, "During my consultations here, I've noticed that the common problems include hair fall and pigmentation. Due to hot weather conditions, sunscreen is a must here, if you want to protect your skin. You can keep a bottle of soda and wash your face to remove tan and refresh after an outing or even swimming."
Beauty is not just skin deep for her; it's a mane issue as well. That's why she is visiting Chennai again to train hairstylists and aestheticians for the forthcoming Organisation Mondiale Coiffure Asia Cup Open and Hair Asia Pacific to be held in Mumbai in October. "I want people from this part of the country to update their skills and knowledge of styles. They shouldn't lag behind when it comes to such big shows where people from Japan, Korea, Thailand and China are expected to participate. Pivot Point will be getting expert stylist from abroad too for the workshops."
Giving details of the OMC Asia Cup (incidentally, she is president of OMC-India), Blossom says there are various categories from creative style and technical to bridal. "I've noticed at Pivot Point training sessions. People from here are very creative. All it takes is fine tuning of skills and some more awareness of trends," she smiles.
