SLICE OF KERALA Taste the traditional flavours on Thiruonam

Onam is a harbinger of happiness and prosperity. And to celebrate the spirit of the festival, Copper Point, GRT Grand, 120, Sir Thyagaraya Road, T. Nagar, is hosting a traditional dinner buffet spread on September 14 and 15, and a lunch buffet on September 15.

Savour mambazha pullissery, erussery and some spicy non-veg dishes and finish your meal with desserts such as paalada pradhaman, chakka pradhaman and ada pradhaman.

And for some entertainment, there's Kathakali, kaikottikali, oppana and Mohiniattom on both evenings between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

A feast

Aahar, the buffet restaurant, is celebrating Onam with a menu that comprises dishes typical to God's Own country — thoran erussery, pulissery, ayala porichiadu, Kottayam kozhi soup, nendhram pazham and many more.

The special Onam buffet, priced at Rs. 270, is open on September 15, for lunch and dinner. For reservations, dial 28253434.

Kiddy meals

Marrybrown has come up with new Kiddy meal packages. Kids can choose from four combos, two vegetarian and two non-veg. The combo options are kiddy veg burger and fries; veg nuggets and fries; pieces of fried chicken and fries and chicken lollipop and fries.

While the veg combos are priced at Rs. 60, the non-veg ones cost Rs. 65. What's more, a Pokemon collectible toy comes with every package. The packages are available at all Marrybrown outlets. For details, call 26218777.

Traditional spread

Hotel Aadithya will serve `sadya' prepared by a traditional cook from Kerala. The dishes include sarakara uppery, banana chips, yam chips, erussery, pulichery, pachadi, kootukari, palada pradahman and parippu pradahman. Not just the food, even the ambience and music will match the festival mood. The meals, priced at Rs. 100, will be served from 12 noon to 3.30 p.m. on September 15. For reservations call 24880488.

Wide array

At Southern Aromas, The Residency Towers you can get a taste of Kerala specialities — malli rasam, vendakkai vadichadu, melagu kootu, kalan, thoran, avail, kootu mangai, ingi karry and paruppu kari. For those with a sweet tooth, there is ada pradahman and paruppu pradahman.

Lunch will be served from 12.30 to 3.30 p.m. and dinner from 7.30 to 11.30 p.m. For details call 28156363.
