Taste the tropics
Celebrating the 48th Independence Day of Malaysia, Tourism Malaysia and Malaysian Airlines in association with MarriotWelcom Hotel organised a 15-day Malaysian food and culture festival at MarriotWelcom Hotel. The festival was inaugurated by the High Commissioner of Malaysia to India. It marked an attempt to familiarise the discerning with the real culture of Malaysia, away from the glitter of parties and the serious hues of seminars.
The show began with a multicultural performance. The festival showcased the Malaysian cuisine providing Indians a perfect platform to taste their tropical cuisine. One could relish kung bao chicken, fried kyon teow, tom yam kai, nasi goreng with a variety of salads, red snapper with three different sauces and many other dishes. The festival presented an assortment of Malaysian cuisine for which Chef Suresh Muniandy had been flown in from Kuala Lumpur. It was just another step in a bid to welcome Indians in the land where they find another home away from home.
