Decorating India

DECKING IT UP IHDP would be ready by this November

With home destined to become the next big thing in the country, here comes International Home Deco Park (IHDP), a state-of-the-art, 350,000-square-foot business complex, with an investment of approximately 20 million dollars, aiming s to providing a common platform for international buyers and exporters. The construction of IHDP is on at Noida and is scheduled to open for buyer walk-in by the November end.

By bringing forth the "Best of India" in the home décor category, IHDP claims to ensure organised growth for the Indian home décor industry. IHDP offers world-class communication facilities, a photography studio, a service centre for designing, packaging/labelling, forwarding and shipping. For the convenience of buyers, additional services such as a hospitality/travel desk, wireless Internet and a café and restaurant are also available. Shuttle service to and from the airport and hotels will also be a part of the activities of the complex. Besides offering business support facilities to exporters, IHDP also houses its own global marketing department, which creates innovative strategies to increase buyer footfalls while giving exposure to the home décor industry. To make the park interesting for the visiting buyers IHDP would host events, seminars, design shows and festival celebrations around the year.

Happening spot

This new institution is not just a venue to showcase products but also a platform for organised growth. IHDP would work towards bringing in buyers who come to India regularly but cannot branch off to the numerous cities where home décor products are manufactured. Once functional, the park is expected to play host to at least 70-80 buyers per week.

Playing host to a wide range of exporters under one roof around the year, IHDP not only eliminates the inconvenience of buyers travelling across the country for sourcing various products but also improves the quality of business management. With a mix of exporters from across the country at IHDP, a buyer would be able to access a cross-section of products - some of immediate interest, others for future reference - at one go. The comfort of multi-sourcing without the hassles of traveling over the large expanse of the country could make IHDP a happening spot for all buyers in the home decor segment and a `one stop marketing solution' for the exporters.
